Catch-up

Well, I am clearly terrible at blogging(sorry Grandma!).  Honestly when we are home there is so much to keep me busy that I rarely even think about it.  I feel like the more comfortable I have gotten in my mama shoes, the more I have wanted to keep our lives private.  I think I used to want to brag every time I baked banana bread or changed a cloth diaper as if I were teaching the world something new under the sun.  That was pompous.  I'm sorry. From now on I will matter-of-factly describe our days.

I want to make these linen bento bags for produce and bulk section grocery shopping(ambatalia.bigcartel.com) because they're way too expensive and look easy.

The cute boy on the right and his mama and daddy just welcomed a new sister to the world whom I can't wait to spoil:

Meet Phoebe Cate!

I made her a couple of these bonnets and I'm working on a sweater(Pomander baby cardigan on ravelry) that may fit her when she's 25...

Ezra is very proud of being able to stick all but his face under water "without even being scared at all!"

Our cat pooped out a drumstick.
Not really.

Any mulching on our property only looks good for a maximum of five minutes, or as long as it takes the chickens to find it and scratch it up and all over the sidewalk.

We love the beach, we like the water, we hate the jellyfish.

We picked blueberries, and Gideon dumped half of them on the kitchen floor when we got home.

The next day I picked wild raspberries on the side of our road. Isaac likes them because they're tart like green grapes.

We took the boys to the Calvert Marine Museum Saturday for shark fest.  This is them at the top of the lighthouse...

And holding a giant tooth...

And disturbing the peace...

We are babysitting our friend James and his baby sister Layla today.  He has goggles that make you look like a minion from Despicable Me.

Have I mentioned that Isaac and Ezra are baby whisperers?

...and master swordsmen.  Good combination, no?

Happy Monday!

Stop buying mayonnaise.

I would be a really selfish person if I didn't tell you that it's ridiculously easy to make mayonnaise, especially if you happen to have an over abundance of eggs being laid in your backyard, but that's another story for another day. I don't even use a food processor. Just a bowl and fork(or whisk). I use the recipe over at glutenfreegirl.com/making-mayonnaise-2/
